Tik's Future Activities
In order to achieve his mission, Tik is constantly coming up with pioneering new activities to foster innovation in the next generation. He plans to organise at least one major project every year and currently has several exciting projects in the early stages of planning, including:
Submersible Pilot Training: Tik wants to give students the opportunity to become a submarine pilot. Students will learn how to safely pilot a submersible, including knowing what to do in an emergency. At the end of the course, the students will be issued with “The Little Aquanaut Submarine Pilot License”.
Deep Sea Research: By streaming live video and other data in real-time on the Tik and Bubbles Web site, Tik wants to offer students the chance to take part in a virtual deep-sea research expedition.
“The Little Aquanaut” Educational Outreach Programme: To compliment the hands-on learning activities that will be offered by the foundation, a robust and exciting on-line educational outreach programme will be developed, allowing school children from around the world to participate virtually in all stages of Tik’s various activities. The real-life superhero will make complex science fun by delivering live weekly Internet broadcasts to “The Little Aquanaut” club members using a pedal-powered generator. His animated and interactive learning Web content will be updated regularly with news and competitions and members will be encouraged to get involved in Tik’s current and future activities. A series of semi-educational books, toys and games that follow Tik’s adventures will also be available on-line.

Activity Impacts
By engaging students in real-world education, Tik’s activities will enable them to better understand the connection between science, society and technology. It is expected that students will make lifestyle changes; becoming more socially responsible and taking action to address local environmental issues. By becoming more involved in local projects, students will understand that they can have a positive impact and create meaningful change not just locally, but also nationally and globally. Tik’s activities will equip students with the knowledge, skills and confidence to find science-based solutions to environmental problems.
